Swimming is undeniably one of the most popular activities at Mother Majeri Primary School, despite being an optional program. Every Wednesday and Friday, our students eagerly participate in swimming lessons held at various venues, including Ridah Hotel in Seeta and Rest Gardens in Bweyogerere. Additionally, we are excited to announce that we are in the final stages of planning the construction of our very own modern swimming pool for grownups on our school premises.
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of our swimmers, we have established a set of guidelines. Firstly parents of all the learners who are interested in swimming should sign a consent letter with the school. On swimming days, all participants are required to bring their swimming costumes, towels, and sandals. Our dedicated class teachers and drivers accompany the students to the swimming pool, closely monitoring their activities while being assisted by professional swimming trainers. This ensures that the children receive proper guidance and supervision throughout their swimming lessons.
Our swimming program caters to students from different levels, including the baby class, middle class, top class, and the primary section. We prioritize the development of swimming skills by initially introducing children to the shallow end of the pool. As they gain confidence and proficiency, they gradually progress to the deeper sections. This progressive approach ensures their safety while fostering their swimming abilities.
Mother Majeri Primary School is proud to have participated in both internal and external swimming competitions, where our students have consistently showcased their talent and excelled in this activity. We believe that swimming not only promotes physical fitness but also instills discipline, confidence, and teamwork among our students.
